Frequently Asked Questions
I provide virtual telehealth sessions through SimplePractice video conferencing. SimplePractice is HIPAA compliant, and you’ll have your own private portal. All of your documents and messaging happen right there on the portal.
It’s simple. You can have your therapy sessions in a place that’s most comfortable and safe for you. Sessions take place on the SimplePractice platform, so you’ll need an internet connection.
If we run into connection trouble on a given day, we can switch to the phone.

This is an initial 10 minute conversation where we decide together whether I’m the right therapist for what you’re looking for. You can reach me by phone at (720) 608-4782 or by email at mhunt@fourwindscounselingcenter.com.
Sessions are 50 minutes.
Yes. I’m currently contracted with Cigna, Aetna, Kaiser/Beacon, BCBS, and United. I can also provide you with a superbill for your insurance purposes.
I work with adults 18 and older. I work predominantly with women, but I also work with men dealing with religious abuse issues. I don’t work with couples or adolescents.
It’s natural to want to know things about your therapist. That question usually turns into something exploratory in the session itself. I guide it toward a better understanding of you, rather than of me.
Choosing a therapist you feel can help you is critical to the process. The first question to ask is whether the therapist deals with the issues you’re looking for help with.
Other questions worth asking: In the initial consultation, did the therapist have a good understanding of what kind of help you needed? In session, do you feel heard? Do you feel safe?
Counseling isn’t always comfortable. The comfort comes from the relationship with your therapist as the process gets harder. That relationship is critical.
That depends on the circumstances that bring you into the process in the first place. At Four Winds Counseling Center, I never put a timeline on the work.
The process itself is what determines the length of time. I honor that.
Yes. I hold a license in the state of Florida and a license in the state of Colorado.
I have a black miniature poodle named Bree, who you’ll often see on my lap in sessions. She’s decided she likes being in therapy, so she sits on my lap a lot of the time. Your pet is welcome in our sessions too.
